We have been working very hard to improve our appointment systems and have introduced a new appointments system which started on 6th October.
In addition to our team of doctors and nurses we now have two experienced nurse practitioners, therefore allowing us to increase the number of doctor and nurse appointments we can offer every day. This means you will get an appointment quicker and we will have an increased number of advanced booking appointments to offer.
Nurse practitioners, or advanced practice registered nurses, are qualified to take patient histories, perform physical exams, order labs, analyze lab results, prescribe medicines, authorize treatments and counsel patients/families on continued care and refer when required.
Nurse practitioners’ array of qualifications, and the fact they can work independently of doctors to treat patients, is a valuable addition to our services.
Our nurse practitioners work every day and offer same day acute appointments throught out the day.
Our telephone on-call times run from 8.30 to 11.30 and 2.30 to 5.30, this is when we have a duty doctor available, but if your problem can be dealt with by the nurse practitioners then it may be one of them who will ring you back.
